J/A+AS/136/257 Saturn's satellites in 1995/97 (Harper+ 1999) ================================================================================ CCD astrometry of Saturn's satellites in 1995 and 1997 Harper D., Beurle K.,I.P.Williams, Murray C.D., Taylor D.B., Fitzsimmons A., Cartwright I.M. =1999A&AS..136..257H (SIMBAD/NED BibCode) ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Planets ; Positional data Keywords: planets and satellites: satellites of Saturn - astrometry Description: In this paper, we publish measurements of 1514 positions of the major satellites of Saturn made in 1995 and 1997 using CCD detectors attached to the 1-metre Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope on the island of La Palma. Analysis of the data as inter-satellite positions shows that the observations of Tethys, Dione, Rhea and Titan have root-mean-square residuals of 0.08 arc-seconds in 1995 and 0.10 arc-seconds in 1997. In order to convert them to differential coordinates referred to the Earth's true equator and equinox of date, you must use the formulae given in Sec.3 of the paper and the calibration coefficients given in Table 4. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See also: J/A+AS/121/65 : 1990-1994 Saturn's satellites astrometry (Harper+ 1997) J/A+AS/120/107 : 1989-1994 CCD observations of Triton (Veiga+ 1996) J/A+AS/131/291 : 1995-1997 CCD positions of Triton (Veiga+ 1998) J/A+AS/136/445 : CCD observations of Nereid (Veiga 1999) J/A+AS/139/305 : Position of Saturn's satellites (1982-1988) (Veiga+, 1999) J/A+AS/139/47 : 1995 Saturnian satellites mutual events (Emelianov+, 1999) J/A+AS/143/405 : Astrometric observations of Helene (Veiga+, 2000) J/A+A/383/296 : Saturnian Satellites positions (1996-2000) (Peng+, 2002) J/A+A/391/767 : CCD obs. of Phoebe in 1998-1999 (Fienga+, 2002) J/A+A/422/377 : 1997-2000 1994 Saturn's satellites astrometry (Qiao+, 2004) Byte-by-byte Description of file: table6.dat table7.dat table8.dat table9.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 4 I4 yr OBS.Y Year of the observation (1) 6- 7 I2 "month" OBS.M Month of the observation (1) 9- 17 F9.6 d OBS.D Day of the observation (1) 19- 23 F5.1 s Exp Length of the exposure (2) 25- 32 8I1 --- Flags [0/1] Boolean flags indicating presence (1) or absence (0) of each satellite in the image 33- 40 F8.2 pix xiMimas ?
